Mary E. Smith, 92, a resident of Oswego died Saturday evening in the Oswego Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Pittsburgh, PA and has been a resident of Oswego since 1965. Mrs. Smith worked at Taggarts, Oswego Eastern Aircraft, NJ, Merck’s NJ, and she was a teacher’s aide at Riley School. Mrs. Smith was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Smith in 1996, her son Daniel Sterphone, her parents Michael and Mary (Newstead) Donahue, and her sister Margaret VanBogaert   Mrs. Smith is survived by her children Lloyd (Alice) Smith, and Rebecca (Hercules) Master, daughter-in-law Marie Sterphone, sisters Emma Grasso of Oswego, Terri (Agnes) Foley of New Hartford, 8 grandchildren Dee Creek, Julie (Keith) Watkins, Desiree (Seth) Martin, Hercules “Tom” Master IV, Steven and Anthony Master, Ayn and Stacie Smith, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private.The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.
