Marian Z. Crandall, Oswego and Sackets Harbor, passed away peacefully November 6th at home at the age of 86. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert. Marian will be remembered by her friends and family as someone you could count on to pray for you and be there by your side through any crisis. Marian and her husband traveled to the Holy Land, Hawaii, The Caribbean, and all over the United States. She was a finalist twice in the Pillsbury Bakeoff and loved to cook. She was an avid writer and many will remember her for the book she wrote on losing a pet. Marian and her husband Bob were also guests on Oprah for a Valentine’s Day Special in the 80’s because of a story that she wrote telling why her husband was the love of her life. Marian is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Carl and Joyce Fowler of Pt. Salubrious, NY; her four children: daughter Billie (Dennis) Brady of Oswego, and 3 sons: Peter (Linda) Crandall of Rochester, Greg (Lissa) Crandall of NJ, Kris (Amy) Crandall of Clayton, NY; 8 grandchildren: Sean, Erik, Heather, Griffin, Nathan, Kody, Noah, and Jake, and 3 great grandchildren: Jace, Jaelynn, and Lorelai. Calling hours will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego. Funeral Services and Burial will be announced in the spring in Sackets Harbor, NY.
Crandall Family: My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Your mom was such a wonderful friend and neighbor to me and my family. The best neighbor we ever had. She is such an angel and will always be in our hearts forever. I am so sorry for your loss at this time. Let me know if I could do anything for you at Knobby Knoll and all. I just loved the obituary about her -she is such an inspiring person in so many ways. I would love to read her book about the death of a pet.
Always with the God, Deborah McGann
Billie, Dennis, Griffin & Nate and family – So sorry to hear of your mom/Grandmother’s passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
