Luc R. Gilbert, 79; of Fulton died Saturday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Gedeon and Amanda (Cloutier) Gilbert in Ste. Aurelie, Quebec, Canada. Mr. Gilbert moved to the United States in 1959 and he has been a resident of Fulton since 1964. He co-owned and operated with his wife and son Gilbert Excavating, Fulton since 1970. Mr. Gilbert was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was pre-deceased by his sisters: Jeanette Gilbert and Yolande Gilbert, Brothers Walter Gilbert, Leonard Gilbert, Herbert Gilbert and Clermont Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 52 years Mignonne (LaMarche) Gilbert of Fulton, 3 children: Cheryl (John) Tharp of West Virginia, Linda (Jimmy) Bullock of Delaware, and John (Denise) Gilbert of Fulton, 3 brothers: Benoit (Jacqueline) Gilbert of Canada, Henri (Gervaise) Gilbert of Hannibal, NY and Ligouri Gilbert of West Virginia, 5 sisters: Mariange Gilbert, Claire Gilbert, Jacqueline Gilbert, Anitta Gilbert and Doris Gilbert all of Canada, 6 grandchildren Nicholas (Carrie) Spiker and Jennifer Spiker both of West Virginia, Brian (Anna) Bullock of Louisiana, Gregory Bullock of Delaware, Joshua Gilbert and Benjamin Gilbert both of Fulton, 1 great grandson Colt Spiker of West Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton with Rev. Robert Stephenson officiating. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions may be made to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, PO Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126.
I would like to convey my sincere condolences to my aunt Mignone, my cousins and to the whole family of my Uncle Luc on my behalf and that of my wife and my daughters. We think about you for this tought moment.

With the loss of my friend Luc, a man I respected and cared for like a an elder brother I feel a great loss. I will miss our talks and his well-timed stories. I thank you Luc for the wonderful memories. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with your family during this very difficult time.
