Lawrence C. Barker, 88, of New Haven, Mexico area, and more resent of Bishop Commons, Oswego died Tuesday October 23, 2018 in the Oswego Hospital. Mr. Barker was born in Watertown, NY the son of Charles and Viola (Bendwell) Barker. Mr. Barker worked at Fort Drum military base as an engineer working in the maintenance department repairing air-conditioning units and refrigerators. Mr. Barker also worked for Burkhards Plumbing & Heating. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife Mariel Barker and children David Barker and Karen Rapholz. Mr. Barker was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his children Robert (Valerie) Rapholz of Watertown, Janet Barker of Pulaski, Charry Snyder of Oswego, Garry (Kelly) Barker of Watertown, Terry Neice of Oswego. He is also survived by his sisters Alvina Bok of Rochester and Doris Weston of Watertown, 14 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Sugar Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego. Burial will be private.
