Julie A. DeGroff, 55, of Hannibal, NY died Thursday in the Oswego Hospital after a sudden attack. She was born in Oswego the daughter of Anne Carney of Oswego and the late William Carney. She was a former cashier at Walmart, Oswego. She enjoyed crocheting, walking her dogs and being with her family. Julie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 35 years Richard “Doc” DeGroff of Hannibal, sons Rick (Chrissy Williams) DeGroff of Hannibal, Jeremy (Kate) DeGroff of Fulton, granddaughter Olivia DeGroff, mother Anne Carney, siblings Cathy (Dave) Goettsch of CA, Billy (Lisa) Carney of Oswego, Patti (Joe) Scanlon of Oswego, Maureen Carney of Oswego, Monica (Dale MacDonald) Carney of Fulton, Theresa (Nate Johndrew) Carney of Oswego, John Carney of Syracuse. Funeral services will be Monday 7:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Flemming. Spring burial will be in Hannibal Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.

  1. Julie, Bill and I had a lot of fun for many years as kids. I’ll keep these thoughts close to me and remember her in my prayers always.

    May her family and friends find peace in their hearts through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother Mary.
    May Julie be welcomed into the Fathers Kingdom in Heaven. I ask this of the Father with the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary through Christ our Lord. Amen.
