Joseph Masuicca, 80; of Oswego died Wednesday at St. Luke Health Services after a short illness. He was born in Oswego to the late Nazarno and Nancy (Ricci) Masuicca. He has remained a lifetime resident of Oswego. Mr. Masuicca was a United States Veteran having served in the Navy from 1952 to 1954. He retired after 41 years with National Grid as a Chief Gas Mechanic. Mr. Masuicca was a life member of the Oswego BPO Elks, a member of the LST Association, and past president of the Oswego Utility Employee Association. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and bowling. Mr. Masuicca was pre-deceased by his wife Cosimina Masuicca in April 2011. He was also pre-deceased by his siblings: Francis, Thomas, and John Masuicca, Anna Talamo, and Angeline Rupert. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 8:30 AM Monday in the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and 9:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Greg Kreinheder. Entombment will be held in All Saint’s Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be conducted 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego.
Uncle Joe,
You left us way too soon. We know you are with all those you missed over the years, including Aunt Cosi, your siblings, and parents. Heaven has a new angel, and we have great memories of you, your humor, great spirit, and of course, love. We will miss you – enjoy chicken wings and beer at your welcoming party in heaven!
