John D. Barnard Jr died peacefully on Sunday September 23, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 9, 1926, John served in the United State Army 11th airborne as a paratrooper in World War II. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Irene, his daughter Suzanne, and sons John, Kevin and Peter. John is also survived by his six grandchildren Caitlin, Andy, Kiely, Mark, Kari, Steven, as well as one great granddaughter Zayley, and his brother Robert. His good character, personal values and work ethic have served as important lessons to us all. Funeral services and burial in Clarerack Cemetery will be private. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego, NY

Sorry to hear of John’s passing. He touched many people over his lifetime and I know he will be missed. Hope you can take comfort in knowing he has gone Home.

Dear Irene & Family,
I just heard of John’s passing last night. I haven’t seen John in many, many years. But one thing I remember about him is his wonderful personality. He had a big heart and was always smling.
