Genevieve Overman, 79, of Oswego, died Saturday in the Oswego Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Overman was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Bau) Ciryak. She was a resident of Fulton before moving to Oswego in 2001. Mrs. Overman worked as a consultant for Estee Lauder at McDonald Fashions in Oswego, and a bank clerk for the Oswego County Public Federal Credit Union. She was predeceased by her husbands Harry Purt in 1973 and James Overman in 1992. Mrs. Overman is survived by her children Yvonne (Roger) Baker of Chicago, IL, Rita (Lester) Coe of Oswego, Harry (Linda) Purt of Oswego, Priscilla (Patrick) DeBan of Oswego, Heidi (Darryl Bedell) Griffin of Cleveland, OH, and her brother Donald Ciryak of Cleveland, OH, and eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Genevieve Purt, granddaughter Erica Purt, brothers John and Thomas Ciryak and sister Rita Turchetto. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 9:00 a.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Schrader. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 West Fourth Street Oswego.
