Anthony Pecora, 80, of West Utica Street, Oswego died Friday in the Oswego Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Pecora was born in Oswego the son of the late Daniel and Carmela Pecora. He worked as a salesman at Endicott Johnson Shoes, and as a contractor at Miller’s Brewing, Fulton, and Hammermill Paper, Oswego. He retired from the New York Power Authority, after sixteen years of employment. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a life member of the knights of Columbus Council #227, and the Elk’s Club #271. He enjoyed music and was a member of the Grey Barons Drum and Bugle Corp, and the Fulton Community Band. Mr. Pecora enjoyed golfing and was an S.U. Football fan where he and his brother Joe had season tickets for forty-five years. He enjoyed spending time with all his nieces and nephews, and making frequent trips to various casinos. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Daniel Pecora, and sisters Nellie Cafalone, and Frances Pecora. Mr. Pecora is survived by his brothers Phillip (Theresa) Pecora of Oswego, Joseph Pecora of Oswego, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 9:30 a.m. from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego, and 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 W. 4th. St., Oswego. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
