Anthony F. Scerbo, 86; of Fulton died Wednesday, May 11th at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY. He was born in Fulton to the late Joseph and Felicia (Conca) Scerbo. Mr. Scerbo retired in 1985 from the Fulton Consolidated School System as a Principal with Fairgrave Elementary. He was a member of the retired Teachers Association, and he was the senior member of the Thursday night Battle Island Golf League. Mr. Scerbo was pre-deceased by his wife Wilma Scerbo on February 28, 2011, 2 sons: Gary Scerbo in 1980, Thomas John Scerbo in 1964 and great granddaughter Geonna. He is survived by his children: Joseph (Gina) Scerbo of Fulton, and Lois (David) Baron of Lafayette, NY, his sister Gilda Spagnola of Fulton, 5 grandchildren: Becky, Gary, Joey, Lindy, and Lisa; and 5 great grandchildren: Kyle, Brooke, Brittany, Taylor and Bella. Funeral Services will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Robert Stephenson officiating. Burial of Mr. Scerbo and his wife Wilma Scerbo will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.
What a romantic, timeless love your parents had together. I was soo happy to see them last year!! I want you two to know(Joey-Lois) that the pain does ease some but never does go away totally. You are all in my heart now and I am sure that your parents are holding hands along with smootching up a storm!! Take care of each other. Love….Cheryl
I am shocked and sadness my Mr. Scerbo’s passing. He was a WONDERFUL man and I had GREAT respect for him growing up. As child he was my principal and a great mentor. I would often see him as an adult and he always remember me with a smile and a kind word. Sorry for your loss.
