Alice D. Dexter

Alice D. Dexter, 91; formerly of Fairdale died Monday at Oswego Hospital, Oswego. She was born in Fulton to the late Fred and Anna (Parsons) Meldrum. Mrs. Dexter was past employed as a bookkeeper for the Seneca Federal Savings and Loan, Baldwinsville, NY. She was well known for the beautiful baby blankets that she hand knitted. Mrs. Dexter was a past member of the Hannibal Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and she was an avid bowler who was involved in several bowling leagues over the years. She and her husband Don had a camp on Cross Lake, NY for many years where the entire family had wonderful times. They also enjoyed camping at Fish Creek Pond in the Adirondacks. They passed their love of camping down to their children, and grandchildren. Mrs. Dexter was pre-deceased by her husband Donald Dexter in 2007, and her son Donald L. Dexter, and grandson Perry M. LaPage. She is survived by her children: Barbara (Wendell) Blanchard of Hannibal, Linda (Tom) Leach of Hannibal, Pamela (Jim) Rolince of Lakeland, NY; daughter-in-law Barbara Dexter of Dexterville, NY, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be held in Fairdale Cemetery. Calling hours will be conducted Wednesday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.
