Alexander J. Grimshaw, 79; of Fulton died Friday at University Hospital, Syracuse. He was born in Bronx, NY to the late Alexander and Anna (Valentine) Grimshaw. He has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life. Mr. Grimshaw was a United States Veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Grimshaw previously worked at Sealright, CO., Fulton, Metropolitan Life Insurance, Montgomery Ward, and later retired from Goldberg’s, Fulton as Store Manager. He was a member of the Golden Agers, and RSVP. He enjoyed volunteering at Michaud Residential Nursing Home, and he was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Grimshaw was a Eucharist Minister at Holy Family Church and he was known as the “Voice” of the Holy Family Bazaar. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, reading, gardening, and genealogy. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Mary Jane Grimshaw in 1991. Mr. Grimshaw is survived by his wife of 16 years: Ida Grimshaw of Fulton, 6 children: Alex (Colleen) Grimshaw of Fulton, Scott (Valerie) Grimshaw of Greenville, SC, Jeff (Debbie) Grimshaw, Beth (Jim) Nicholson, Maria (Scott) Clark, and Paul (Angela) Grimshaw all of Fulton, 2 step children: Lisa Marseilles of Napa, CA, and Michael Wolski of Pelham, NY; 20 grandchildren: Nicholas, Mallory, Ron, Abby, Phil, Madeline, Marley, Megan, Erin, Meredith, Seth, Devon, Sophia, William, Grace, Gregory, Dana, Hilary, Kevin, and Sarah. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:30 AM Monday at Holy Trinity Church, Fulton where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.
